A really nice little hike. They call it: "the Emerald Pool of the Nord" 10 minutes away from Calibishie. (1/2 day)

Chaudiere pool

This is Calibishie very own "Emerald Pool". You will take a gentle hike along the Hampstead ridge, with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Along the way, your local guide will help you to sample many of the fruits growing in the rainforest. Leaving the ridge, you will walk down to the banks of the Hampstead river to find Chaudiere Pool for a cool, refreshing swim. Unlike the Emerald pool, you will have this pool all for yourself.


For the adventurous, the depth of this pool allows jumping into the pool from the elevated rocks surrounding it-a real challenge! After your refreshing dip, you return via the same route, keeping your eyes peeled for a sighting of the Sisserou Parrot-Dominica's national bird.
